Bilby Habitat - Dreamworld
Project Overview
Client: Dreamworld
Location: Gold Coast Qld
Completion: 2023
Scope: Mock rock and concrete sculpture teamed up with design and construction.
Project Summary
As part of this project, we designed and constructed a large dual bilby enclosure anchored by a temperature‑controlled nocturnal house, allowing visitors to experience these rare marsupials in their natural rhythm. The immersive setting is enhanced with hand‑painted murals and sculpted mock rock that recreate the textures of the Australian desert. To deepen engagement, a mid‑exhibit pop‑up dome gives children the thrill of “stepping inside” the habitat for a close‑up view, while a themed mine shaft doubles as an additional in‑exhibit viewing point, blending storytelling with functionality. Alongside the bilby habitat, we delivered three reptile exhibits and a dedicated dunnarts enclosure, expanding the precinct’s conservation and educational impact. All works were carried out entirely in‑house by our skilled team, with the assurance of licensed contractors ensuring compliance, safety, and long‑term durability. The result is a suite of exhibits that balance animal welfare, visitor immersion, and professional craftsmanship.
