Scope: Sculptural design and fabrication of natural river environments for Platypus.
Project Summary
Themed Environments were engaged to create a platypus habitat for visitors to view Platypus. Themed elements included a full size River Redgum Trunk, fallen log to create a waterfall and a waterslide between the upper and lower ponds. Burrows/tunnels were incorporated into the walls to provide entry and exit to the habitat. Keeper access was through a doorway hidden in the mock rock wall.
In addition a twin creek system off display to the public to help in the facilitation of a breeding program.
