Reptile House - Kyabram
Project Overview
Client: Zoos Victoria
Location: Kyabram, Victoria
Completion: 2023
Scope: Mock rock and concrete sculpture.
Project Summary
At Kyabram Fauna Park, we designed and constructed new Reptile House habitats that bring guests face‑to‑face with some of Australia’s most fascinating species in a setting that feels alive with detail. The space is anchored by two large feature exhibits, each complete with cascading waterfalls and naturalistic rockwork that create dynamic, enriching environments. Surrounding these are eight smaller displays, each furnished with photographic backdrops, sculpted mock rock, and hand‑crafted water bowls to replicate authentic habitats. Every enclosure is finished with natural substrates — from soils and leaf litter to branches and logs — encouraging natural behaviours while enhancing the immersive experience for visitors. The result is a carefully balanced blend of animal welfare, craftsmanship, and storytelling that transforms the Reptile House into both an educational journey and a memorable encounter.
